Our Philosophy
It is our role as adults, teachers and carers to receive the children in warmth and love, respect their individuality and prepare them as they set forth into the world as independent and strong-willed humans.
We aspire to provide a learning experience that is informed, sequential, appropriate and wholesome. We strive to instil the necessary skills for a harmonious social life so that their social relationships may flourish. To achieve this, our approach is to work creatively to provide a balance between thinking, feeling and willingness.
We recognise the importance of all staff members’ ongoing professional development and understand that each teacher needs to be supported so that they too can do their best in caring for the children.
We recognise and welcome with open arms the involvement of families as an integral part of our community. We provide opportunities for families to learn and share their gifts and talents while we work in a healthy, sustainable and educational environment, where the Steiner ethos & curriculum is respected and upheld.
What is the Steiner Philosophy
The Steiner philosophy for early childhood education, synonymous with Waldorf education, promotes a holistic approach to children's development, emphasising physical, emotional, and intellectual growth. Grounded in the belief that creative play, hands-on activities, and nature exploration are optimal for learning, Steiner educators prioritise nurturing curiosity and wonder in each child. This approach fosters a balanced development of body, mind, and spirit, emphasising experiential learning, imagination, and community values. These principles come to life in our daycare centre through our dedicated educators.
Our core principles
In everything we do, we ensure we stay true to the core principles of the Steiner Philosophy. This helps us to educate and nurture each child’s development so that they can get the greatest opportunity to grow into the best versions of themselves. Our family daycare centre is founded on these Steiner principles & values, with each child benefitting from an education based on the Steiner philosophy.
